Terms of service
The agreement between Firstfile and the business that subscribes. Plain English, and short. Last updated 22 October 2026.
What you get
Firstfile gives you lists of newly registered UK companies, filtered and scored for what you sell, in a dashboard and by email. The lists come from the public Companies House register and from what companies publish about themselves. We work hard to keep them accurate and timely, but we can't promise that every entry is complete or correct.
The free trial
Each business gets one 14-day free trial. No card is needed to start. If you add a card before the trial ends, your subscription starts when it ends. If you don't, the trial ends and nothing is charged.
Billing
Local is £19 a month and National is £99 a month, or ten months' price for a year. Prices exclude VAT, which is added where it applies. Stripe takes payment at the start of each period. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while; if it still fails, the subscription ends.
Changing or cancelling
You can move from Local to National at any time, and pay the difference for the rest of the period. You can cancel at any time from Plan and billing. Your subscription then runs to the end of the period you've paid for, with no refund for the part you don't use. We keep your feeds, notes and lead statuses for 90 days after it ends, so you can restart where you left off, and then delete them.
Your areas
On Local you choose up to 5 postcode districts. You can change them freely during the trial and the first 7 days of paying, and then once every 60 days.
How you use the data
The lists are for your own business's sales and marketing. You may not resell, republish or share them with another business. You're responsible for how you contact the companies, including UK data protection and electronic marketing law. Respect anyone who asks not to be contacted. Any company can ask to be removed from Firstfile at firstfile.co.uk/opt-out.
Ending your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by reselling the data, and won't refund the rest of that period.
Liability
Firstfile is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you in any year is limited to what you paid us in that year, and we're not liable for lost profits or business. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes and law
If we change these terms we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions? Reply to any email from us.
